Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped

  • 1 cup lump crab meat (fresh, canned, or imitation)

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • ¼ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or paprika + pinch of cayenne)

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp finely diced celery or scallions

  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère or cheddar cheese

  • 4 slices thick sourdough or baguette, toasted

  • Optional: Chopped parsley, hot sauce, garlic butter

Instructions

  1. Mix filling: In a bowl, combine shrimp, crab, mayo, sour cream, Dijon, Old Bay, lemon juice, and celery. Fold gently to avoid breaking up crab lumps.

  2. Toast bread: Lightly butter or toast bread under the broiler for 2 mins (optional: rub with garlic first!).

  3. Assemble: Pile shrimp-crab mix onto each slice, then top with shredded cheese.

  4. Broil: Place on a baking sheet and broil 3-5 mins until cheese is bubbly and golden.

  5. Garnish: Sprinkle with parsley and a dash of hot sauce. Serve immediately!
