Southern-Style Shrimp Dip 🍤🔥

Creamy, spicy, and packed with bold flavor, this Southern-Style Shrimp Dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s perfect for game day, parties, or any gathering. Serve it warm with crusty bread, crackers, or tortilla chips for the ultimate indulgence!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb small shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped (or use pre-cooked shrimp)

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 green onions, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)

  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced (optional for heat)

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp hot sauce (like Crystal or Tabasco)

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (for cooking shrimp)

For Serving:

  • Baguette slices, crackers, or tortilla chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Shrimp

  • If using raw shrimp, heat butter/oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  • Add shrimp, garlic, and a pinch of salt. Cook 2-3 minutes until pink. Chop into small pieces.

  • If using pre-cooked shrimp, chop and skip cooking.

2. Mix the Dip

  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese, mayo, and sour cream until smooth.

  • Stir in cheddar, Parmesan, Worcestershire, hot sauce, smoked paprika, Old Bay, jalapeño (if using), and green onions.

  • Fold in the cooked shrimp.

3. Bake

  • Transfer to a greased baking dish (or a cast-iron skillet for presentation).

  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.

4. Garnish & Serve

  • Top with extra green onions, a dash of paprika, or a squeeze of lemon.

  • Serve hot with toasted bread, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Tips for the Best Dip

🔥 Spice it up: Add extra jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne for more heat.
🧀 Cheesy twist: Swap cheddar for pepper jack or Gouda.
🍤 Make ahead: Assemble the dip (unbaked) and refrigerate overnight—just bake before serving.

This creamy, savory, Southern-style dip is guaranteed to disappear fast! Want a crab version? Swap shrimp for lump crabmeat. 😋

Enjoy! Let me know if you’d like adjustments for a lighter or dairy-free version.
