  • Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz. spaghetti
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz. marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the Spaghetti:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, following the package instructions.
    • Drain and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
    • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.

    • In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, sour cream, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
  5. Assemble the Casserole:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce. Mix until the spaghetti is well coated.
    • Spread half of the spaghetti mixture evenly into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
    • Spread the cheese mixture over the spaghetti layer.
    • Top with the remaining spaghetti mixture.
    • Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and the Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Bake:
    • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
