St. Patrick’s Day Baileys Chocolate Mousse is a rich and indulgent dessert that brings together the creamy goodness of Baileys Irish Cream with the decadence of dark chocolate. Here’s a simple and delicious recipe to make this festive mousse:

St. Patrick’s Day Baileys Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients:

  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 300ml thickened cream
  • 100ml Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 egg whites
  • Optional: Grated chocolate or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Chocolate:

    • Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Heat gently over a double boiler (or microwave in short bursts, stirring in between) until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Whip the Cream:

    • In a separate bowl, whip the thickened cream using an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip—you’re looking for a smooth, airy texture.
  3. Prepare the Baileys:

    • Gently fold the Baileys Irish Cream into the melted chocolate once it has cooled slightly. Mix until well combined.
  4. Whisk the Egg Whites:

    • In a clean, dry bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form. This will help add lightness to the mousse.
  5. Combine the Ingredients:

    • Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chocolate-Baileys mixture, one third at a time, being gentle so that the mousse stays light and airy.
    • Once fully incorporated, gently fold in the egg whites, ensuring that the mousse remains fluffy and airy.
  6. Chill the Mousse:

    • Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or until the mousse is set.
  7. Serve and Garnish:

    • Before serving, garnish with grated chocolate, cocoa powder, or a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.

Optional Add-ins:

  • Chocolate Shavings: Add some chocolate shavings on top for an extra touch of elegance.
  • Fresh Berries: Pair the mousse with fresh raspberries or strawberries for a fruity contrast.
