Steak Bites with Garlic Butter Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound sirloin steak (or ribeye), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Steak:

  • Pat the steak bites dry with paper towels and season them generously with salt and pepper.

2. Sear the Steak:

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak bites in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches.
  • Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness (medium-rare is about 130°F/54°C).

3. Make the Garlic Butter:

  • Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
  • Once melted, add the minced garlic and thyme. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

4. Combine:

  • Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter until well coated. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.

5. Serve:

  • Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
