Steak & Shrimp Noodles Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Steak & Shrimp:

  • 2 boneless steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak work well), thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable oil)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for marinating the steak)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional, for the shrimp)

For the Noodles:

  • 8 oz noodles (egg noodles, udon, or rice noodles are great options)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, julienned (optional)
  • 2-3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but adds depth of flavor)
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional, for a little sweetness)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar (optional, for acidity)
  • 1 tsp chili garlic sauce (optional, for heat)
  • 2 tbsp water (or beef/chicken broth for extra flavor)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Steak & Shrimp:

  • Marinate the steak: (optional) In a small bowl, toss the sliced steak with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, garlic powder, and a pinch of pepper. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes to marinate.
  • Season the shrimp: Toss the shrimp with a little salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if desired). Set aside.

2. Cook the Noodles:

  • Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. If using rice noodles, be sure to rinse them under cold water to prevent sticking.

3. Cook the Steak:

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated steak (in batches, if necessary) and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your preferred level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.

4. Cook the Shrimp:

  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, flipping once, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

5. Prepare the Noodle Sauce:

  • In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic and sliced onion for about 2 minutes until softened.
  • Add the bell pepper (if using) and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until it softens.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, chili garlic sauce (if using), and water. Bring it to a simmer for about 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

6. Combine the Steak, Shrimp, and Noodles:

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the sauce, tossing to coat the noodles evenly in the sauce.
  • Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together. Let it cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.

7. Serve:

  • Remove from heat and serve immediately.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and extra chili garlic sauce if desired.

Tips:

  • Steak Choices: Ribeye, sirloin, flank steak, or strip steak are all great options. Make sure to slice the steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Vegetable Variations: You can add additional vegetables like bok choy, mushrooms, or snow peas for more texture and flavor.
  • Noodles: If you want a gluten-free option, use rice noodles or gluten-free noodles.
  • Sauce Adjustments: You can adjust the sauce ingredients to your taste. Add more soy sauce for saltiness, more hoisin sauce for sweetness, or extra chili garlic sauce for heat.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Side Dish: This dish pairs well with a simple side of steamed vegetables or a light Asian-style salad.
  • Drink Pairing: Try pairing this with a light, refreshing drink like iced tea, lemonade, or even a crisp white wine.

This Steak & Shrimp Noodles dish is packed with flavor, protein, and plenty of textures, making it an easy and delicious dinner to enjoy any night of the week. Whether you’re a fan of steak, shrimp, or both, this recipe will satisfy your cravings!
