Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken

(Tender, juicy chicken with a tropical twist—perfect for sandwiches, rice bowls, or salads!)

This 3-ingredient dump-and-go slow cooker recipe is a crowd-pleaser with its sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. Ideal for busy days!

🍗 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

  • 1 (20 oz) bottle Hawaiian BBQ sauce (*or 1 cup BBQ sauce + 1 cup pineapple juice*)

  • 1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple (undrained)

  • Optional add-ins:

    • 1 sliced bell pepper

    • 1 sliced onion

    • 2 minced garlic cloves

    • 1 tbsp soy sauce (for umami)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Add everything to the crockpot: Place chicken in the slow cooker, then pour Hawaiian BBQ sauce and crushed pineapple (with juice) on top. Add extras if using.
2️⃣ Cook:

  • Low heat: 4–5 hours

  • High heat: 2–3 hours
3️⃣ Shred: Use two forks to pull apart the chicken. Stir to coat in sauce.
4️⃣ Serve: Over rice, Hawaiian rolls, or in tacos. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • For thicker sauce: Remove chicken, simmer juices on stove with 1 tbsp cornstarch slurry.

  • Spicy kick? Add sriracha or red pepper flakes.

  • No Hawaiian BBQ sauce? Mix 1 cup BBQ sauce + ½ cup pineapple juice + 1 tbsp honey.

Why It Works

✔ Zero effort with maximum flavor.
✔ Meal-prep friendly—freezes well!
✔ Versatile: Use leftovers for pizza topping, nachos, or sliders.
