🍋 Zesty Lemonade Puppy Chow

A sunny, citrusy twist on the classic snack mix—sweet, tangy, and totally addictive! Perfect for summer parties or a bright treat any time of year.

📝 Ingredients

  • 9 cups (225g) Rice Chex cereal

  • 1½ cups (255g) white chocolate chips

  • 2 tbsp (30g) unsalted butter

  • 2 tbsp lemon zest (freshly grated)

  • 3 tbsp (45ml) lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

  • 1½ cups (180g) powdered sugar

  • ½ cup (60g) lemon-flavored instant pudding mix (*or ¼ cup extra powdered sugar + 1 tbsp lemon zest*)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Melt the Coating

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter.

  2. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.

  3. Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice (mixture may thicken slightly).

2. Coat the Chex

  1. Pour Rice Chex into a large bowl. Drizzle with the white chocolate mixture.

  2. Gently fold with a spatula until evenly coated.

3. Add the Powder

  1. In a large zip-top bag or bowl, mix powdered sugar and pudding mix.

  2. Add the coated Chex and shake/toss until fully dusted.

4. Set & Serve

  • Spread on parchment paper to cool and dry (15-20 mins).

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

💡 Pro Tips

  • Extra zing? Add 1 tsp citric acid (or a pinch of powdered lemonade mix) to the sugar coating.

  • No pudding mix? Use all powdered sugar + extra zest.

  • For clusters: Let the coated Chex clump slightly before adding powder.

🍋 Why It Works

  • Pudding mix adds a creamy lemon flavor without being too sour.

  • Fresh zest + juice keep it bright and natural-tasting.

Sweet, tangy, and impossible to stop eating! 🌞✨

(P.S. Swap lime zest/juice for a tropical twist!)
