Cheesy Sloppy Cheeseburger Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced pickles and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • In a large pot, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the Meat:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add Garlic and Sauce:
    • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Add the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Combine Pasta and Cheese:
    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well with the sauce. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve hot, topped with additional cheese, sliced pickles, and chopped green onions if desired.

Tips:

  • You can customize this dish by adding vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the meat mixture.
  • For a spicy kick, add some diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
