Easy Chicken & Broccoli Stir-Fry 🍗🥦

(Ready in 20 minutes! Tender chicken, crisp broccoli, and a savory garlic sauce.)

Perfect for busy weeknights—better than takeout and packed with protein!


Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless chicken breast or thighs, thinly sliced

  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced (optional)

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil for flavor)

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce for a sweeter taste)

  • 1 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or lime juice)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (to thicken)

  • 1/4 cup water or chicken broth

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Garnish (Optional):

  • Sesame seeds

  • Sliced green onions


Instructions

1. Prep the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, water, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

2. Cook the Chicken

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

  • Add chicken in a single layer and cook 3-4 mins per side until golden. Remove and set aside.

3. Stir-Fry the Veggies

  • In the same pan, add remaining oil and sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Add broccoli and bell pepper, stir-fry 3-4 mins until crisp-tender (add 1-2 tbsp water if needed to steam).

4. Combine & Sauce It Up!

  • Return chicken to the pan, pour in the sauce, and toss everything together.

  • Cook 1-2 mins until the sauce thickens and coats everything.

5. Serve

  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

  • Best with steamed rice or noodles!
