  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons milk (any kind)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or melted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Mug:
    • Choose a microwave-safe mug (12-16 oz capacity). Lightly grease it with a bit of oil or butter.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    • In the mug, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to ensure they are evenly distributed.
  3. Add the Wet Ingredients:
    • Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir until you get a smooth batter with no lumps.
  4. Add Chocolate Chips:
    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips. Sprinkle a few extra on top for a gooey finish.
  5. Microwave:
    • Microwave on high for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds. Start with 1 minute, then check for doneness. The cupcake should rise and set but remain slightly moist.
  6. Cool and Enjoy:
    • Let the mug cupcake cool for a minute before enjoying it directly from the mug or transferring it to a plate.
