Creamy Caesar Chicken and Mushroom Bake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms (white or cremini)
  • 1 cup Caesar dressing
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Chicken:
    • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme on both sides.
  3. Cook the Mushrooms:
    • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are softened and have released their moisture, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the Caesar dressing, sour cream, and grated Parmesan cheese until well mixed.
  5. Assemble the Bake:
    • In a large baking dish, arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer.
    • Spread the cooked mushrooms evenly over the chicken.
    • Pour the Caesar dressing mixture over the chicken and mushrooms, spreading it out to cover evenly.
    • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • If desired, turn on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes to achieve a golden brown top.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
