Friendship Spaghetti Pie

A comforting, shareable dish that’s perfect for potlucks or feeding a crowd—layered with spaghetti, cheese, and savory fillings!

Ingredients

(Serves 6–8)

Crust:

  • 8 oz spaghetti (about ½ standard box)

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or Italian sausage)

  • ½ cup onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce (or 2½ cups homemade)

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella, divided

  • ½ cup shredded provolone (or more mozzarella)

  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prep the Spaghetti Crust:

  1. Cook spaghetti al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water.

  2. In a large bowl, toss spaghetti with eggs, Parmesan, butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. Press into a greased 9-inch deep-dish pie plate or springform pan, forming a “crust” up the sides.

2. Make the Filling:

  1. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic; drain fat. Stir in marinara and oregano. Simmer 5 mins.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta with ½ cup mozzarella.

3. Layer & Bake:

  1. Spread ricotta mixture over spaghetti crust.

  2. Top with meat sauce, then sprinkle remaining mozzarella and provolone on top.

  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 mins until cheese is bubbly and golden.

  4. Let rest 10 mins before slicing. Garnish with fresh herbs.

Tips

✨ Make it veggie: Swap beef for sautéed mushrooms and spinach.
✨ Freeze for later: Assemble unbaked, wrap tightly, and freeze. Bake from frozen (+15–20 mins).
✨ Crispier top: Broil 2–3 mins at the end.
