Ingredients:
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ingredients:
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 1/2 cup of the milk to form a smooth paste.
- Heat the Milk:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the remaining 3 1/2 cups of milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- Thicken the Mixture:

- Pour into Molds:
- Pour the thickened milk mixture into a shallow dish or individual molds. Smooth the top with a spatula if needed.
- Chill:
- Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
- Serve:
- Once set, cut into squares or unmold the milk panels. Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon if desired.
