  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of cheddar and mozzarella)
  • 1 cup crushed buttery crackers (such as Ritz)
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prepare the casserole:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
    • Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  3. Assemble:

    • Transfer the chicken mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Topping:

    • In a separate small bowl, mix the crushed crackers with melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the casserole.
    • Add the remaining ½ cup of cheese over the cracker topping.
  5. Bake:

    • Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  6. Serve:

    • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
