No-Bake Apple Pie Delight

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs (about 10-12 graham crackers)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups apple pie filling (or homemade applesauce with cinnamon)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for tartness)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the crust:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture is well combined and the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
    • Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish or a pie dish to form a crust. Use the back of a spoon to pack it down tightly.
  2. Prepare the filling:
    • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
    • Fold in the whipped topping until combined, creating a smooth, fluffy mixture.
  3. Assemble the layers:
    • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust in the baking dish.
    • Spoon the apple pie filling over the cream cheese layer. If you like, you can add a pinch of ground cinnamon or a squeeze of lemon juice to the apples for extra flavor.
  4. Chill:
    • Refrigerate the dessert for at least 3-4 hours (or overnight) to allow it to set and become firm.
  5. Serve:
    • Once chilled, slice into squares or serve with additional whipped topping, if desired.
