Ingredients

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and semisweet chocolate chips.
    • Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir well and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth (about 2-3 minutes total).
  3. Add the Nuts and Flavoring:
    • Stir in the chopped walnuts, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  4. Pour and Set:
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
    • Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for 1 hour, or place it in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.
  5. Cut and Serve:
    • Once set, lift the fudge out of the baking dish using the parchment paper or foil overhang.
    • Cut into small squares and serve.
