Steakhouse Burger Sloppy Joes

A gourmet twist on the classic—juicy ground beef, caramelized onions, and steakhouse flavors piled high on toasted brioche buns.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)

  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 cup beef broth

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)

  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

  • 4 brioche buns, toasted

  • Optional toppings: Crispy fried onions, pickles, arugula

Instructions

1️⃣ Caramelize the Onions:

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and cook 15–20 mins, stirring occasionally, until golden and sweet.

2️⃣ Cook the Beef:

  • Increase heat to medium. Add ground beef, breaking it up. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

  • Stir in garlic, Worcestershire, Dijon, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.

3️⃣ Simmer the Sauce:

  • Pour in beef broth and heavy cream. Simmer 5–7 mins until slightly thickened.

  • Stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.

4️⃣ Serve:

  • Spoon the mixture onto toasted brioche buns. Top with extra caramelized onions, crispy fried onions, or pickles.
