Ingredients:
Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped

- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Egg Noodles:
- 12 oz egg noodles
- Salt (for boiling water)
- 1 tbsp butter (optional, for tossing noodles)
Instructions:
- Prepare Meatballs:
- In a large bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, egg, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg to the breadcrumb mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
- Cook Meatballs:
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes per batch. Remove meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream. Add the Worcestershire sauce and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, coating them with the sauce. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Cook Egg Noodles:
- While the meatballs are simmering, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and toss with a little butter if desired.
- Serve:
- Serve the Swedish meatballs over the egg noodles, spooning extra sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
