Tiramisu Pudding Cups Recipe

These Tiramisu Pudding Cups are a fun, individual-sized twist on the classic Italian dessert! They have all the rich, creamy layers of a traditional tiramisu but are made in a no-bake, easy-to-assemble version that’s perfect for serving in cups. With layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and cocoa powder, these pudding cups are a show-stopping treat for any occasion.

Ingredients:

For the Mascarpone Cream:

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional, such as Kahlúa)

For the Tiramisu Layer:

  • 12-15 ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi biscuits)
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee (cooled to room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional, for extra flavor)

For Garnish:

  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • Shaved chocolate or chocolate chips (optional, for added texture)
  • Chocolate curls (optional, for decoration)

Instructions:

1. Make the Mascarpone Cream:

  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth and thick. This should take about 2-3 minutes on medium speed.
  • If you’re using coffee liqueur, add it to the mixture and blend until combined. Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed.

2. Prepare the Ladyfingers:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using).
  • Quickly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture, making sure they’re moist but not soggy. Be careful not to soak them too long, as they can break apart easily.

3. Layer the Pudding Cups:

  • Prepare your serving cups (small glass jars, mason jars, or any small clear cup work great).
  • Start with a layer of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of each cup. You may need to break or cut the ladyfingers to fit, depending on the size of your cups.
  • Spoon a generous layer of the mascarpone cream on top of the ladyfingers. Use the back of the spoon to smooth it out evenly.
  • Repeat the layers, alternating between the soaked ladyfingers and the mascarpone cream, until you reach the top of the cup. Aim for about 2-3 layers of each component.

4. Chill the Pudding Cups:

  • Once the cups are assembled, cover them with plastic wrap or a lid and place them in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together and the layers to set properly.

5. Garnish and Serve:

  • Just before serving, dust the top of each pudding cup with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
  • For extra flair, garnish with shaved chocolate, chocolate curls, or chocolate chips on top.

Storage:

  • Refrigeration: These tiramisu pudding cups can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. The flavors continue to develop and improve with time.
  • Make-Ahead: You can assemble these cups a day or two in advance for a stress-free dessert.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe:

  • No-Bake and Easy: No need to worry about baking or assembling a complicated dessert. Just layer the ingredients and let the fridge do the work.
  • Individual Servings: These pudding cups are perfect for serving guests, as each person gets their own little portion. They’re also easy to pack for picnics or gatherings.
  • Decadent and Creamy: With rich mascarpone cheese, silky cream, and the distinct flavor of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, these pudding cups are the ultimate indulgence.
  • Customizable: You can adjust the sweetness or add more coffee or liqueur to suit your tastes. You can also make these kid-friendly by omitting the alcohol and adding a little more coffee.

Tips for Success:

  • Quality Ingredients: The key to a great tiramisu is using high-quality mascarpone cheese and freshly brewed coffee. The better your ingredients, the better your dessert will taste!
  • Adjust the Coffee Soak: If you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, soak the ladyfingers for a little longer. If you want a more subtle coffee taste, dip them quickly.
  • No Coffee Liqueur? No problem! If you don’t have coffee liqueur, you can just use more coffee in the cream mixture, or a bit of vanilla extract for flavor.

These Tiramisu Pudding Cups are the perfect way to enjoy a classic tiramisu in a fun, individual-sized format. They’re creamy, flavorful, and sure to impress anyone who loves this Italian dessert. Enjoy!
