Chocolate Sticks Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil (optional, for a smoother coating)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and salt.
  • Add the cold, cubed butter and vanilla extract. Rub the butter into the dry ingredients with your fingers or a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Knead the mixture gently into a smooth dough. If the dough is too dry, add a teaspoon of cold water at a time until it comes together.

2. Shape the Sticks:

  • Roll the dough out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  • Cut into thin sticks about 3-4 inches long and ½ inch wide using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter.
  • Place the sticks onto the prepared baking sheet.

3. Bake the Sticks:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. Keep an eye on them, as they can burn quickly.
  • Let the sticks cool completely on the baking sheet. They will firm up as they cool.

4. Coat in Chocolate:

  • Melt the chocolate chips and oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  • Dip each cooled stick into the melted chocolate, covering it completely or partially, as desired.
  • Place the chocolate-coated sticks on a sheet of parchment paper to set. For faster setting, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.

5. Serve:

  • Once the chocolate is set, serve the chocolate sticks as a snack, dessert, or with coffee or tea!

Variations:

  • Sprinkle crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or colorful sprinkles on the chocolate before it sets for extra flavor and texture.
  • Use white chocolate or a mix of dark and milk chocolate for variety.

Enjoy your homemade Chocolate Sticks! 🥰
