📝 Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 ¾ cups (345g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp (7g) instant yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (120ml) warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Filling:

  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted

Glaze (optional):

  • ½ cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the dough:

  1. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, vanilla, and egg. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead by hand (10 mins) or with a mixer (5-7 mins) until smooth and elastic.

2️⃣ First rise:

  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.

3️⃣ Shape & fill:

  1. Roll dough into a 12×20-inch rectangle.
  2. Brush with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with cinnamon sugar.
  3. Cut into 6 vertical strips, stack them, then slice into 6 squares.
  4. Layer squares vertically in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.

4️⃣ Second rise:

  • Cover and let rise for 30-45 mins until puffy.

5️⃣ Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake 30-35 mins until golden (cover with foil if browning too fast).
  • Cool 10 mins, then drizzle with glaze (if using).
