Frozen Tray Dessert

Posted on November 27, 2024

A frozen tray dessert is a great way to enjoy a cool and refreshing treat with minimal effort. Here’s a simple recipe for a Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert that you can make in a tray and store in the freezer:

Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for melting with the chocolate)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the crust:
    • In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Stir until well combined.
    • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form an even layer for the crust.
  2. Make the peanut butter layer:
    • In a separate bowl, beat together powdered sugar, peanut butter, and softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
    • Fold in the whipped topping until the mixture is light and fluffy.
    • Spread this peanut butter mixture evenly over the graham cracker crust.
  3. Make the chocolate layer:
    • In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons of butter together. Stir occasionally until smooth.
    • Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly to cover the top.
  4. Freeze:
    • Cover the dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, and place it in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours, or until firm.
  5. Serve:
    • Once frozen, cut into squares or bars. You can let it sit for a few minutes at room temperature to soften slightly before serving, if desired.

Enjoy your Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Dessert! It’s a delicious, no-bake frozen treat with the perfect balance of chocolate and peanut butter.
