Keto Turkish Bread

This Keto Turkish Bread is soft, fluffy, and low in carbs, making it a perfect option for those on a ketogenic diet. It’s ideal for serving with dips, soups, or as a side to your favorite Mediterranean dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 tablespoon psyllium husk powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
  • Sesame seeds or nigella seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Add the eggs to the dry ingredients and mix well. Quickly add the melted cheese mixture to the bowl and knead (using your hands or a spatula) until a smooth dough forms. The dough will be sticky, but it should hold together.
  5. Shape the Bread:
    • Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a flat oval or rectangle, about 1/2-inch thick. Use your fingers or a fork to create traditional indentations on the surface.
  6. Add Toppings:
    • Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds or nigella seeds, if desired.
  7. Bake:
    • Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips:

  • If the dough is too sticky to handle, lightly grease your hands with olive oil.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or dried herbs to the dough.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a fresh-baked texture.

Enjoy your keto-friendly Turkish bread! 🥖✨
