Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 cup whole milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan or loaf pan.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
    • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  6. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve as desired.
