- 4 large eggs
For the Cream Filling:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Prepare the Pastry:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Add the flour all at once and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, until the dough is smooth and glossy.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip (or use a spoon) and pipe mounds onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and puffed.

- Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag fitted with a small round tip.
- Assemble the Cream Puffs:
- Once the puffs are completely cooled, use a small knife to cut a small slit in the side of each puff.
- Pipe the whipped cream filling into each puff through the slit until filled.
- Serve:
- Dust the filled cream puffs with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
