Husband’s Delight Casserole Recipe

This Husband’s Delight Casserole is a hearty and satisfying dish, packed with flavor and perfect for a comforting family meal. It’s easy to make and features a delicious combination of ingredients that are sure to please everyone at the table!


Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter version)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 bag (30 oz) frozen hashbrowns, thawed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (optional, for topping)

Instructions:

1. Cook the Ground Beef:

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

2. Prepare the Casserole Mixture:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.

3. Assemble the Casserole:

  • In the prepared bowl, add the cooked ground beef and onion mixture to the soup mixture, then add the thawed hashbrowns and 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until everything is well combined.

4. Bake the Casserole:

  • Transfer the casserole mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the mixture evenly.
  • If desired, drizzle the melted butter over the top of the casserole for added flavor and a crispy top.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
  • After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.

5. Serve:

  • Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips for Success:

  • Add Veggies: You can add frozen peas, carrots, or corn to the casserole for some extra veggies and color.
  • Make Ahead: This casserole can be made ahead of time. Assemble it, cover it tightly, and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Just bake it when you’re ready to serve.
